Overview

As part of a bespoke kitchen installation by “The Kitchen Range” an internal loadbearing wall from inside the existing property needed to be removed.

The property had previously been extended and the wall to be removed was the original external wall to the house which supported the floors and the roof.

We were asked by “The Kitchen Range” to carry out the professional services associated with this work.

Brief

  • Survey of existing structure
  • Structural calculations for the steelwork and padstones
  • Arrangement drawing of the proposals
  • Submit an application to Local Authority Building Control

  • A pair of steel beams below the original cavity wall
  • Engineering brick padstones
  • Inspection of bearings at contractors requests during the works
  • Completion and submission of a Building Notice to the Council
